How to use the Chrome Projectworks Time Tracking extension

The extension allows users to fill out their timesheet without having Projectworks open and it offers a handy start/stop timer. It's a convenient tool when working in any website.

Once your administrator has enabled the use of the Chrome widget, it's easy to log time using the time tracking extension directly from your Chrome browser. To get it set up:

  1. Install the extension from the Chrome Store
  2. Click on the Extensions icon in your browser - you should see Projectworks Time Tracking in your list of extensions.
  3. Select the extension and login with your Projectworks credentials in the popup. This should be a one-time step unless you log out.
  4. Once logged in the extension is ready to use. We recommend pinning this so it's always one click away.

Troubleshooting

Why can't I see the Extension?

  • Confirm the extension has been installed (and we recommend pinning it to Chrome so you can always see it).

Chrome Extension-1

Why can't I log in?

  • Check you are logging in using your regular login method, either your email address and Projectworks password, or your Microsoft credentials.
  • Check that the Administrator has enabled the Chrome integration in Projectworks.
  • Check you can log directly into Projectworks.

Why can't I see my timecode?

There is not the ability to create new timecodes or projects from the Time Tracking extension. If the project or timecode is missing then please check your access from Projectworks. There are various reasons why you may not be able to view it.  The project or timecode may have been closed, the timecode end date has passed or the timecode start date has been moved to be in the future. Or you could have been removed from the timecode by the Project Manager.
